One of the first questions I hear from a bride when we first meet is, “how long will it take to get my album back?’
The answer will vary from region to region and from studio from studio however, there are a few things, which you can ask the studio, to gauge how long your album will take to be completed.
Many studios, like our own Abacus Wedding Studios, employs full time video editors and graphic designers, to ensure that albums and videos, not only look the way you want but improve the speed of the post production process, getting you your album and video back quickly.
An, “in house” graphic artist will often have your album completed much quicker than a studio, which requires a sub contractor or the lab, do the post production for your album.
When an extra step is added to any process, it ultimately increases the time of completion.
The same can be applied to video production.
Another tangible, and one that all photography and video production studios will agree on, is the couple’s ability to get back to the studio with your photo selection, which will be used to create your album.
With digital photography as the medium of choice for photographers, the amount of images, especially in a photojournalistic style of photography, which most couples prefer, can yield well over 800 images.
This may be a daunting task, and in many case the primary reason for the delay of an album design and ultimately the album completion.
Keep in mind that studios want you, to have your album as soon as possible, since the album you receive is a source of new referrals for the studio from everyone who see them and helps the studio avoid a backlog of albums, which need to be produced.
Being pro-active in picking out the images for your album and getting them back to the studio is critical when it comes to time and the post production process of the studio is a close second.
